Olympic License Plate

The annual $15 specialty license plate fee for the Olympic Spirit license tag, is used to support the training efforts of Florida’s Olympians and promoting the development of future Olympians through the Florida Sunshine State Games. By purchasing the Olympic Spirit license tag, you not only support current Olympians, you also help the future Olympians on their journey to Olympic Gold.

In 1980, the State of Florida created the Sunshine State Games to provide Florida’s citizens an Olympic-style sports festival they can call their own. The Sunshine State Games, now in its fourth decade of competition, is the nation’s oldest State Games and is Florida’s largest and longest standing multi-sport festival. The mission of the Games is to provide quality competition for Florida’s amateur athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Purchasing Information:

  • If you are within your renewal period (within 3 months of your plate expiration): 
New plate fee of $58.00 PLUS your annual registration fee.
  • If you are NOT within your renewal period:
 Replacement license plate fee of $69.60 (When you are not within your renewal period you cannot update your registration; therefore, there is not an additional registration fee added)

Personalized Plates

Personalized plates are available for an additional fee. If you are interested in purchasing a personalized plate, a representative from your local tag office will further assist and provide the necessary paperwork.

Proceeds:

50% is distributed directly to the U.S. Olympic Committee to help support the U.S. Olympic Movement and Florida’s Olympic athletes.

50% of the proceeds are used by the Florida Sports Foundation to promote amateur sports in Florida, including the Florida Senior Games State Championships and Florida’s Sunshine State Games
