Grants

The Florida Sports Industry Grant (FSIG) program supports sporting events that:

  • Drive out-of-state visitation and tourism spending
  • Generate significant economic impact at the state and local levels
  • Promote youth engagement, amateur, collegiate and attract pro events to the state and health/fitness programming
  • Elevate Florida’s brand as a top U.S. and global sports destination

Major (Premier) Events

  • Premier Events – Up to $300,000 reimbursement funding.
  • Large‑scale events (statewide, national, or international reach) with substantial tourism and media value.
  • Based on available funds.
  • All events supported, hosted, or sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation should actively promote the Foundation’s funding source by highlighting and marketing Florida’s branded Specialty License Plates as part of event programming, materials, and outreach.

Minor Events

  • Emerging & Community Events – Up to $100,000 reimbursement funding.
  • Event New‑to‑Florida or highly scalable community‑rooted events with legacy potential.
  • All events supported, hosted, or sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation should actively promote the Foundation’s funding source by highlighting and marketing Florida’s branded Specialty License Plates as part of event programming, materials, and outreach.

Sports Industry Conference Assistance (SICA)

  • The Foundation’s SICA Program operates through its Sports Industry Partnership program, which encompasses all regions of the State of Florida.
  • All events considered for assistance must meet the criteria outlined in the SICA Guidelines.
  • Any funds granted will be subject to audit by the State of Florida Office of the Auditor General, the Chief Financial Officer, the Office of the Chief Inspector General, and the Grantor’s independent auditor. By applying, the applicant agrees to retain and maintain all records related to the event for a period of seven (7) years.
  • Grants are state-funded and, as such, are subject to all state funding audit requirements.
