A natural home for fishers and boaters, Florida offers over 1,000 miles of coastline, 8,426 miles of shore line, approximately 7,800 natural lakes and 12,000 miles of rivers and streams.

On top of all that, Florida is home to nine major professional sports franchises in Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, National Football League and National Hockey League. Additionally, NASCAR, the Daytona 500 and the PGA Tour, LPGA and the PGA of America all call the Sunshine State home.

One of the main focuses of the Florida Sports Foundation is to promote Sport Tourism in Florida. Besides fishing, boating, golf and spring training for the MLB, Florida Sports works in conjunction with more than 29 Sports Commissions statewide to bring sports events to the Sunshine State through its Grant Program. Florida Sports Foundation serves to continue the success of state’s $57.4 billion sport industry and is responsible for the promotion of amateur and recreational sports all over Florida.
