One of the oldest and grandest traditions in HBCU football returns to South Florida over Labor Day weekend. The 52nd edition of the Orange Blossom Classic pits the Florida A&M Rattlers against defending HBCU national champion South Carolina State at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Sunday, September 6. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. ET, with the game airing on ESPN.

But the Classic has always been about more than the game. The stadium’s south lawn becomes tailgate central for the Fan Fest, with live music, food and hundreds of alumni revving up for kickoff — and halftime is nearly as anticipated as the football itself, when FAMU’s Marching 100 and South Carolina State’s Marching 101 take the field. It’s a full weekend of culture, community and Florida pride.

The Orange Blossom Classic is supported by a Florida Sports Foundation grant — part of FSF’s work bringing world-class events to communities across the state and driving economic impact for Florida.
