Five February FSG Series Qualifiers kick off the 2019 Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, Slate
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The 2019 Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, Series Qualifier events, sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation, are gearing up to take place throughout the Sunshine State starting February 2, giving opportunities for athletes 50 and above to Bring Your Game to competitions in the state of Florida.
The 21 local series qualifiers give senior athletes the opportunity to compete in a variety of events throughout the state, many of which are qualifying events for the annual Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana.
“The annual Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, continue to provide athletes age 50 and over with an opportunity to challenge themselves athletically and lead to an active lifestyle,” said Marvin E. Green, Jr., Vice President of Amateur Sports and Events. “Not only do the athletes get a chance to compete at the Games, but they also are provided an environment to renew old friendships, as well as, make new ones. We sincerely believe that you’re never too old to have a little fun.”
Below is a list of the five series qualifiers in February for senior-aged athletes (50+) to Bring Your Game and have the opportunity to punch their ticket to the 2019 Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, that will take place December 7-15, 2019, in South Florida (an official announcement will be forthcoming):

While registration for the Gulf Coast Games for Life has closed (Jan. 18), the Heartland Senior Games’ deadlines are quickly approaching for the second (Jan. 31) and third (Feb. 7) weeks of competition.
Both the Lee County Senior Games and Good Life Games of Pinellas County are actively registering competitors. A complete guide to registration and events listing of its 2019 Lee County Senior Games can be accessed here.
The Polk Senior Games are accepting registrations through Friday, February 8.
A qualifying performance at a Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, Series Qualifier is necessary for state of Florida athletes wishing to compete in Basketball Shooting, Bowling, Cycling, Golf, Horseshoes, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, and Track & Field at the 2019 Florida Senior Games. To qualify, one must finish with a Top 5 placing or time in their respective event. Open sports of the Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, not requiring a qualifying performance include Archery, Bag Toss, Basketball (3-on-3), Billiards, Team Bowling, Dominoes, Lawn Bowls, Powerlifting, Power Walk, Race Walk, Racquetball, Road Race, Tai Chi, and Volleyball.
The 2018 Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana, attracted over 2,500 athletes during the nine days of competition. Since the Games inception in 1992, nearly 52,000 senior athletes have competed in the Florida Senior Games, presented by Humana.
